Scarce and original c.1800 Spanish colonial “Espada Ancha” (Common Sword) cutlass – of a type carried by both Spanish and colonial soldiers and seaman. With simple iron D-Guard hilt with chequered wooden grip. Wide, double-edged blade and complete with its rarely found original leather scabbard. Blade length is 23 inches (27.5 inches overal).
