antique victorian mother of pearl & silver purse type card case, circa mid 19th century

ITEM 1183 CONDITION
Item is in used condition as there is a missing mother-of-pearl panel on the right-hand side. There are also a few visible tears and visible wear to the interior. All this is due to age, handling, and usage.

ITEM 1183 DESCRIPTION
Antique Victorian rectangular shaped and purse-type mother-of-pearl and silver card case. The front side is decorated with plain diamond-shaped panels of mother-of-pearl and with an octagonal-shaped silver panel with an empty central monogram for initialling. The reverse side is decorated with plain diamond-shaped panels of mother-of-pearl. The interior is lined in deep blue silk which is visibly worn with visibly torn concertina blue paper and gold leaf-edged pockets with 12 slots for visiting cards.
