A gilded and chiseled jewel box with enameled plaques signed TAHAN

A gilded and chiseled jewel box with its key, surmounted by a child seated and holding his dog in his arms. The cambered lid is decorated with enameled garlands of flowers and turquoise porcelain. The casket is punctuated by small figures in niches, dressed in the style of the seventeenth century. Garlands of flowers in gilt bronze are set around the edge of the box which itself is carved with floral patterns. Signed TAHAN in Paris.
