A fine quality antique French gilt brass and silvered four-glass mantel clock

The elaborate fine quality four-glass case surmounted by cast cherubs, over a cavetto cornice, and four free-standing columns, decorated with cast swags over a beaded bezel and further seated cherub, the sides with cast foliate scrollwork, raised on a cartouche-shaped bow ended platform with glazed frieze, every glazed panel having silvered engraved flowers and foliage, the whole standing on four turned brass feet.
3.5-inch white-enamelled Roman dial with Roman numerals, moon hands and Plymouth retailer's name.
The two-train 8-day movement has a nicely engraved pendulum, is half-hour and hour striking on a bell and stamped JBD within an oval, numbered 35422.
