19th century qajar dynasty tinned copper 'pie crust' edge table tray. c1870

A wonderful 19th Century 'pie crust' tinned copper Qajar dynasty Qalamzani table tray. Carved chiselled and engraved in high relief and was made in Isfahan or Shiraz circa 1870. It depicts highly stylized symbols representing an idealized world of luxury, sufi mysticism and romantic longing. It is in an excellent condition and measures 69cm in diameter and is 1 1/2c in height. The weight of this piece is 4 Kilos. This is a stunning Persian antique and gives testament to the skill of the artisans producing beautiful works of art in the Middle East. Can be used as it was intended as a table top or a work of art on the wall.
