victorian walnut lockable sowing box

Circa 1880. A neat sized walnut sewing box, the rectangular box in lovely figured walnut with a half rounded mahogany fore-edge, the deep lid opens to reveal a polished interior with a lift out tray with multiple divisions, and beneath this uninterrupted space all filled with sewing items, the front with simple brass escutcheon, with working key, all of the fore edges framed in mahogany, with baize on the bottom. The box is in excellent colour and condition.

Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
