With the Scion OTM (Outdoor Thermal Monocular), you're ready to capture any encounter with people or animals. This handheld monocular gives you the ability to detect heat up to 560 meters (based on Johnson's criteria). Now you have the most high-tech options, such as the new 640 × 512 (12 µm) boson detector, three display modes, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and endless photo and video recordings. The 12 µm detector gives you a superior viewing experience, combining pixels from multiple shots in real time (60 hz). This quadruples the resolution of the image. You can magnify the standard 1x optical zoom using 2x, 4x and 8x digital zoom. The OTM266 has three observation modes. You can use the standard scan mode to observe as usual. A new feature is the lock leg mode. Filter out unwanted temperatures that you don't want to see. Think of very hot or cold temperatures or shiny objects like air and fire. Only the objects you want to focus on will get a color; filtered objects will be shown in black. The third mode is picture in picture. This option is used to zoom in on a certain object in the image (2x), without losing the rest of the field of view. To use the unit, insert the battery compartment supplied with 2, 4 or 6 pieces of CR123 batteries into the compartment. The Scion OTM has a 'smart tray' that recognizes how many batteries are installed. The lifespan with 6 batteries is 4.5 to 5 hours. The thermal monocular can also be used with rechargeable CR123 batteries. The unit also has an automatic shutdown function. Recorded images can be easily transferred to another device via built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, or via the included USB cable. The thermal imager has 2GB of internal storage, which can be increased to 128GB with an optional microSD card. Optionally, you can mount the camera on a tripod, using the 1/4 "thread on the bottom.
