the vintage 2000 pearl and diamond cluster ring

A wonderful ring from the turn of the century, holding 8 creamish white half pearls and one small, single-cut diamond within its head. The diamond sits at the heart of the piece, dainty and delicate, giving the extra sparkle to set the ring off. It is a petite brilliant-cut diamond, small and precisely faceted, nestled into a square setting. Four half pears surround it in a square head, contrasting the roundness and softness of the pearls fantastically.
The square head is framed by broad shoulders with cut-out detailing to the borders. On the shoulders, a further two pearls in a triangular, leaf-like border complete the design, meaning that gems span the entire width of the finger. The ring is reminiscent of medieval design, almost Tudor, with the choice of stones and square yet intricate detailing, combining more fluid shapes with harder lines.
The band has a plain, polished finish and is crafted in 9ct yellow gold. Within the band is a small, neat hallmark. This ring was hallmarked by the Assay Office of Birmingham for 9ct gold in 2000. A fabulous ring to stack with others or wear alone, conjuring visions of time past.
