superb 19th century french sedan chair carriage clock

These clocks are exceptionally rare - especially the coloured metals version of which very few were made. We were Derek Roberts' auction buyers for over 20 years and he always asked us to find him one. Sadly, this came too late. For his book on carriage clocks he had to borrow a photograph from Aspreys (although that is the plain silvered version), which is on page 115.

The clock is running fine and striking correctly although we have not cleaned it or done anything to the case. It is an extremely heavy case and weighs over 3.5 kilos.Probably the only chance to buy one of these in the foreseeable future.Please note: The dimensions given do NOT include the carrying arms.
