SOLD 18th c marquetry automaton longcase clock
18th c marquetry automaton longcase clock. Very good all-round condition. With automaton, the works are original, although the ship is somewhat more recent. Above brass and silvered dial with raised spandrels. 8 day works including date dial and in full working order. A rare clock complete and with nice original patina. Door lock, key and brass escutcheon are later additions, along with the tin plate painted ship. Tall and thin in stature superbly proportioned. Circa; 1770s
