rare toilet mirror by james mein of kelso, scotland

Circa 1815. A rare and unusual mahogany table top toilet mirror by ‘James Mein of Kelso’ the rectangular framed mirror plate (original) supported on two tapering uprights surmounted by circular finials, with brass axe head drops to the sides, the uprights braced by a stylish turned stretcher, resting on two simple trestle feet, the front ones with a curled toe and back ones slightly extended. The back of the plate with the Mein of Kelso label faded with a transcription of the label and extra Mein Information.
