Circa 1890. Pair of attractive gilt-framed oil paintings bearing a label on the back “The beach between Lago (sic) and Elie £1500/pair”. Both paintings depicting coast scenes in Fife, the original gilt frames in excellent condition. One clearly signed J. Edwin. John Edwin (most productive between 1885-1890) was a Glasgow landscape painter in oil and watercolour who exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy. Attractive decorative items.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh.
