  Circa 1860. Evans, Handsworth.   
 William Frederick Evans of Handsworth (Birmingham)  
  8-Day timepiece movement with Sir Walter Scott and his dog in the centre.   
  Anchor escapement with original cylander bob "Evans" pendulum  
  Based on the Scott Memorial in Princess St, Edinburgh, Scotland.  
  Standing on it's original marble base and covered by a re-placement, antique glass dome.    
 In 1850 Evans produced his famous skeleton clock which was based on the Scott Memorial. This was shown at the great exhibition 1851 The clock proved to be extremely popular and he started to produce them in limited numbers.
