    The globe or world map, compiled by the famous geographer and cartographer Joseph Forest, was published by Forest Editeur, located at 17-19 rue de Bussy, Paris. Scale: 1:150,000,000. The globe is mounted on an elegant wooden base with brass meridians, which emphasizes its refined and classic style. France. turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Dimensions: Height: 36 cm. Diameter: 20 cm. Condition: Scuffs on the surface of the map. Historical information: Joseph Forest (1865 – ?) was an outstanding French geographer and cartographer who left a significant mark in the field of cartography and educational materials. In 1886, he founded his own publishing house, which specialized in the creation of maps, plans, globes, spheres (both terrestrial and celestial), tables and wall maps, widely used in educational institutions. Forest`s publishing house, originally located at 17-19 rue de Bussy in Paris, later moved to Bagneux on rue 13th October. Since 1889, the publishing house`s products have been approved by the French Ministry of Public Education and are actively used in educational institutions. In addition to traditional cartographic products, Forest produced unique items, including globe lighters. In 1912, Joseph Forest was appointed Counselor for Foreign Trade of France and actively promoted the country`s interests in the international arena. In 1922, he was re-confirmed in this position, which confirms his significant contribution to the development of national cartography and education.
