A late 19th century Victorian mahogany basket shaped coal depot. The basket has a heavy copper coal bucket with a shaped brass swing handle fitted inside and stands on three gilded cast brass claw and ball feet. The copper coal bucket is original and shaped to sit in the basket. The basket has a slatted frame with a circular turned mahogany rim and inside the basket there is a manufacturers label with 'Raleigh Reg No 199915' (for the year 1893). The basket is in very good condition and has had the polish sympathetically restored. The bucket is in good condition but does have some dents in the sides from the storage of coal over the years. (Circa 1893) Height 36cm (14.2 inches) Diameter 39cm (15.4 inches)
