tavern (trunk) clock

This quirky clock is sometimes described as a 'Tavern' or 'Act of Parliament' clock. It was traditionally a large clock, hung in inns or taverns in the United Kingdom beginning in the mid-18th Century. Such clocks were plain in design, the faces were around two to five feet in diameter and they were hung on the wall. Set in a rich, Tudor Oak case, it features a beautiful painted dial, with the date on the base of the dial. Height: 4 feet 7 inches.
