This is your chance to own the most beautiful mid 19th century French oval four glass mantel clock with it's original finish. I cannot stress enough how stunning this clock is in real life, the quality and attention to detail is really superb. This is a good sized clock and features lovely oval decoration to case and dial. It is in superb condition and in good working order and will date to around 1870.Case

- Oval case with inclined stepped base and matching topDial- The porcelain dial is hand painted with black Roman
- Two winding holes for the two trains of the movement
- Small knob at the top to fine-tune the clock's timekeeping via the Brocot escapementMovement
- Brass French 8 day striking movement with compensating pendulum
- Bears unsigned movement but likely to be Japy Freres
- This is a striking clock and strikes the half and counts the hour on a gong
- Movement will run for approximately 8 days when fully wound
- Clock has a good action and keeps good time
- Comes complete with winding key and pendulumMeasurements
- Clock measures approximately 26cm (11 inches) high by 18cm wide and 15cm deepCondition
