    A beautifully sculpted marble bust of the famous Roman generalLuciusJuniusBrutusdatingfrom the last quarter of the20thcentury.

     
    He is wearingaflowing toga with a fibulae or broach holding it in place.
     
    This high quality bust is made from marble dust or artificial marble.
     
    The attention to detail throughout the piece is second to none and the figure is extremely lifelike.

    Lucius Junius Brutus
    According to Roman legends about the establishment of the Roman Republic, Lucius Junius Brutus (6th C. B.C.) was the nephew of the last Roman king,Tarquinius Superbus(KingTarquinthe Proud). Despite their kinship, Brutus led the revolt against the king and proclaimed the Roman Republic in 509 B.C. This revolt happened while KingTarquinwas away (on campaign) and in the wake of the rape of Lucretia by the king's son.
