This exquisite French Portico clock, made by Choplin, 21 Rue Gambetta Paris, is set in solid marble and features an 8 day movement, bronze ornaments, enamelled dial and is thought to date back to the early 1800s. A Portico clock usually refers to a French clock with drum shaped movement mounted between two or four pillars standing on a base, the exposed pendulum swinging between the pillars.
