    Very unusual set of 3 Victorian wax portraits, the 3 plaques picturing Burns, Scott and Carlyle from Aitken Dott & Son, 26 Castle Street, Edinburgh, contained in gilded oval frames with velvet interior and glazed fronts. Inscriptions on the backs:

     
    'This is the property of William D Campbell given to him by his Aunt Jean (three plaques).'
     
    'Three plaques portraying Burns, Scott, and Carlyle, bought by my grandfather the Reverand William Campbell soon after his marriage in 1877. They hung in his study at Foulden Manse and afterwards at Craigie Manse.'
     
    Size 38cm high x 27cm wide.

    Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
