This is a wonderful large scale panoramic oil seascape painting on canvas by the French artist Roger de la Corbiere, who has signed the painting in the lower right hand corner. The picture depicts the sun setting and is reflected in the gently lapping waves. The rocky coastline is beautifully silhouetted against the sun.

In this instance, we cannot find a location verso, but his normal subject material is the coast of Brittany in Northern France.ABOUT THE ARTIST
ROGER DE LA CORBIERE, Born 1893-Died 1974, was a French artist who was born in Vienna. He studied under the Russian painter Choltse, who was a great exponent of light and shade particularly in snow scenes. He exhibited at the Paris Salon for 35 years, receiving the Silver Medal in 1954.
In 1957 he received the Bronze Medal from the Salon des Independants. The French State acquired several of his paintings in 1925.
He worked mainly from his studio in Brittany, but also spent some time in the Riviera. His daughter carried on the family tradition, painting similar scenes.
His painting are in the collections of many well known persons throughout the world.FRAME
The painting is framed in a 4 1/4" beautiful gallery moulded swept cream mottled frame with white painted slip and is supplied wired and ready to hang. The frame is in very good condition.MEASUREMENTS (Including Frame)
