This is an exquisite pair of bronze stags. They will soon become the centrepiece of your display piece collection and are sure to receive the maximum amount of attention wherever they are placed. These bronze stags would make a fine collector?s item. The stags are made of bronze by the lost wax process, and their gorgeous marble bases are black in colour. These stags appear tentative as they stand cautiously on a rocky outcrop. Their impressive antlers demand attention. Placed together or apart, these stag statuettes will make a striking addition to any setting. Lost Wax Method Sometimes called by the French name of cire perdue or the Latin, cera perduta is the process by which a bronze or brass is cast from an artist's sculpture. In industrial uses, the modern process is called investment casting. An ancient practice, the process today varies from foundry to foundry, but the steps which are usually used in casting small bronze sculptures in a modern bronze foundry are generally quite standardised. Measurements 76 cm high x 36 cm wide x 18 cm deep. They weigh 19.5 kgs each so the pair weighs a total of 39kgs
