    Antique Pair Of Candlesticks Goddess Nike In Gilt Bronze 19th Century

    We present this original pair of late 19th century gilded bronze table candlesticks with the shape of mythological women (probably it is Nike, goddess of victory, depicted as a woman with wings; hence, the nickname Winged Victory).

     
    Measurements: Width 16 x Height 17 x Depth 7 cm.
     
    The base is rectangular with four feet at the corners joined together by crowns with floral motifs.
     
    The two figures are seated, the lower part of the body comes out of the petticoat with the shape of water and floral motifs.
     
    They wear a robe that reveals the breast forms, the hair is gathered with a tail in the lower part of the neck and the wings are arched, resting the upper part on the head.
     
    At the center of the head rests the cup-shaped candlestick.
     
    A beautiful pair of candlesticks for the dining table.
