Designer: Gillis Lundgren Manufacturer: IKEA Country: Sweden Date: Circa 1970 Material: Leather upholstery with Teak frame Maximum Dimensions: Width 193cm, Depth 81cm, Height 75cm, Seat Height 39cm and Seat Depth 52cm Condition: Excellent with some small signs of age, most notably a scuff to the Leather on the left hand arm, as well as some water marking to the right hand seat cushion (see images) Description: A very stylish Swedish Mid-Century 'Skanor' 3 seater Sofa, designed by Gillis Lundgren and manufactured by IKEA. The sofa is upholstered in a vibrant Red coloured Leather upholstery with six removable cushions. The Leather colour contrasts nicely with an exposed Teak frame and armrests to either side, giving the sofa an elegant and timeless profile. Original IKEA pieces are slowly becoming harder to come by, with the quality far exceeding the modern day equivalent. The sofa is raised on four simple Teak block feet to each corner, and the original IKEA label can still be found stapled to the underside of the piece. Purchased in Sweden, this design classic is an original piece of Mid-Century furniture. All items are for sale elsewhere, so may be removed at any time.
