The watercolour depicts a beautiful summer day in Victoria Street of picturesque Southwold, Suffolk, England. The rural setting with the cart drawn by two Suffolk horses and the distinguished lady walking along the street.The watercolour is beautifully executed capturing the colours and mood of this well known elegant Suffolk setting.Mary Gundry was born and brought up on the coast of North Norfolk and she has always lived in East Anglia. She is now based six miles from Southwold and Walberswick, and continues to have a deep-rooted love of the beach and the traditions that go with it. Mary runs The Little Gallery in nearby Halesworth with her photographer partner Colin Huggins.Figurative work in watercolours or oil paints are her speciality. Mary also produces prints of selected items of her work and a small range of greeting cards. She recently published the first book devoted exclusively to her work.
