Limited edition this being number 42 of 60 and signed by the artist
In good vintage condition having always been framed with just general signs of aging not distracting
Actual image 13.5cms x 7cms
Paper size 21.5cms x 10cms
Carrega was born in Corsica and later moved to French mainland in 1938
He was a painter , engraver , cartonnier tapestries and stained glass designer
Resolutely
figurative in the 1950s as a member of the group of 'Jeune Peinture'
with his paintings and his engravings at that time in a 'miserabilistic'
spirit with themes related to religious inspiration, he gradually moved
towards works of abstraction similar to Pierre Soulages
