Circa 1890, late Victorian ormolu ceiling chandelier. With a ceiling rose in the form of leaves and fruit, then beneath this a circular rococo section with open fretwork. In the centre there is the main arm and from this there are 3 tapering and shaped rococo styled sections which form a large basket, coming back together at the end and held in place by a large cast centre bezel with rococo and dragonian carving. It finishes beneath this with a small finial and off this basket are 6 arms which are in the form of flowers. Between these lamp ends and the basket there are connecting ormolu flowers that give the basket some form.
The unusual light fitting has been re-wired (originally gas).

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
