Circa 1800, late George III large mahogany oval wine cooler, with a double hinged top. The top has a simple caddy moulding and deep apron. The body has ebonised panels with canted corners. There are extra pieces of mahogany at the back to support the lid that protrude through the back. Below the body is a large ebony beading and a simple apron. The whole piece stands on four elegant turned and tapering legs finishing on brass cup castors with brass toes. The inside is original. The mahogany is veneered onto an oak carcass. Great colour and good size.
