Japanese Meiji period (1868-1912) bronze cylindrical vase c1900. Decorated in detailed high relief with an encircling dragon chasing the elusive flaming pearl. Greek-key band beneath the rim. The body of the vase is patinated in a dark chestnut colour with the dragon contrasted in a darker brown patination. Exceptionally fine chasing and finishing to the applied dragon.
