ITEM DESCRIPTION: Original PAIR of Stunning Antique Victorian Period Glass Dispensing Barrels with Original Old Compton Steel Taps, Original Lids and with Etched and Gilded Advertising - J.G. Thomson of Leith, one for Whisky, one for Port. Floral Decor. Manufacture Stamp for J.A. Cox, Soho, London. Property of JG Thomson & Co etched to back. These extremely rare glass barrels would have been positioned on the bar in a tavern in the late 19th Century, overhanging the edge. The taps appear to be pretty solid, so cannot guarantee that they can be used, sold as Display Pieces. JG Thomson Leith (near Edinburgh, Scotland) originated in the 1700s, and are still in business today. Absolutely Superb.
