Circa 1900, unusual Italian painted porcelain, brass mounted table top mirror. With 4 painted and gilded panels, each signed and 4 gilded brass acanthus leaves between them. The external bezel of the frame is gilded brass with unusual open filigree style work, and held by brass uprights. The brass uprights have turned rondels on the front, side and back and are surmounted by winged cherubs. A tapering blue porcelain column is gilded and again has painted panels which are signed. There is a crossover stretcher between the 2 uprights in brass with a bulbous section in the centre. At the base of the 2 porcelain columns it spreads into a gilded and painted plinth, finishing on 4 squat brass feet on a brass plinth.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
