...........................................................................Description:'In A Storm' MAGNIFICENT LARGE SIGNED 18thc SEASCAPE SHIPWRECK OIL PAINTING A truly magnificent Original period oil on canvas painting depicting a large masted British vessel in rough seas.The fabulous image portrays this very Grand period British ship in busy times, with lots of it's crew members seeing to the multitude of tasks aboard the vessel as it sails against tough sea currents.In the distance, another smaller vessel can be seen Shipwrecked, almost capsizing against the huge waives.The remarkable painting is Titled:'In A Storm'It is specifically dated: 'July 25th 1751'There is also a signature/monogram which we can't quite make out as well as further inscription regarding the work at the lower part of the painting.The attention to detail throughout the work is almost Old Master quality and indeed the paintings screams quality and 18th Century period charm.Offered in overall outstanding condition and ready to be enjoyed immediately.The work appears to have been beautifully restored/re-lined during the latter part of the 19th Century.The photographs do not do this rare painting justice as it is simply magnificent Note: The asking price includes our 'Free' UK mainland fully insured delivery service
