Antique Imperial Altar Stand from Hue, Vietnam

This lovely red and gold gilt lacquer stand is for
placement of an idol. It is from Hue, the old royal
city of Vietnam and it came from one of the palaces.

Four curved legs with designs of the face of a dragon. Carved dragon motifs run along three sides with the other
having a hand-drawn cloud motif with other
designs. Some loss of lacquer and some cracks but
overall good condition. This is a rare piece.

19th century

10cm high, 37 cm length, 24 cm wide
