This a beautiful Chinese bronze vase from the second half of the 19th Century. There is no mistaking the elegant quality and design of this vase and it is sure to become favourite piece amongst your collection. It has beautiful embossed decoration and is uniquely shaped. Measurements 25 cm high x 25 cm diameter Condition Theis lovely bronze vase are in excellent condition and has been well cared for. Please see photographs to confirm condition. It was made by the classical lost wax or cire perdue method. Lost Wax Method Sometimes called by the French name of 'cire perdue' or the Latin, 'cera perduta' is the process by which a bronze or brass is cast from an artist's sculpture. In industrial uses, the modern process is called investment casting. An ancient practice, the process today varies from foundry to foundry, but the steps which are usually used in casting small bronze sculptures in a modern bronze foundry are generally quite standardised.
