Circa 1880, spectacular French Regency style bronze, brass and gilded chandelier. The wonderful ceiling section with bronze leaves above gilded clusters of leaves with loops to hold the chains which support the main body of the chandelier. The chains are a mixture of bronze and gilding with interlinked sections with stylish decoration in the form of flower heads. The main body has foliate cast arms rising up out of it and finishing with a gilt tray and candle upright. The light fitting has been completely re-wired. In the centre there is a raised section with gilded leaves which form a circle and inside that is a finial. On the underside of the light fitting are bronze leaves from the uprights falling down beneath the body and in the centre a wonderful gilded triple tier section with leaves hugging the bronze body, finishing with a large finial.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
