A rare handsome copy of the Trial of Warren Hastings, 1796.
Late Governor General of Bengal. Finely rebound in dark brown leather with red label title in gilt with raised bands gilt ruling gilt ships and roped anchors in the compartments date 1796 to base of spine, marbled boards with quarter leather corners, new end papers , the third original end paper is signed in beautiful copperplate writing
" Wm McDermot Lieut 88th regt, Bought at Cape Town Ap 28th this is struck out & the 4th added 1807" with a wonderful flourishing signature.
An engraved frontis of Hastings faces the title page again with fine signature of "Wm MacDermot At Sea Ap 13th 1807" Wm Macdermot was THE MACDERMOT Prince of Connaught Ireland from Coolavin house Sligo
