    Antique Extremely rare Arrigo Finzi Art Pottery Surreal Modernist Salvador Dali inspired Plaque C.1940-60's

    An exceptional and extremely rare Italian Art Pottery Surrealist / Modernist design large Plaque / Charger decorated with masks on an orange ground. Of very fine quality, probably an unique (1 of 1 production) or just one or two pieces made by Ceramist and Silversmith Arrigo Finzi of Milan inspired from the work of Salvador Dali. The ceramic body probably with 18ct gold in the decoration

     
    Finzi Ceramics were made in small numbers (he made more pieces in silver), usual subjects for him were The Madonna or later contemporary shapes. Surrealists pieces are extremely rare (from any period) to find by any artist and always command strong prices.
     
    Circa: 1940 - 1960's
     
    Very good clean condition with no damage or repairs
     
    Signed underneath as image
     
    13.5 inches (34cm) dia approx
     
    A great Italian Designer piece probably of Museum quality
