Original Antique English Art Nouveau Large Inlaid Mantel Clock

Lovely mantel clock dating to around 1900-1910. Made of wood with inlaid stringing and a cartouche decoration to the front. This is a really impressive size so please make sure you check out the measurements as the pictures do not illustrate the size very well. The clock is in beautiful condition and good working order.Case
- ?Wooden case in a lovely art nouveau shape standing on four brass bracket feet
- Inlaid double stringing detail around all front edges
- Inlaid marquetry cartouche
- Hinged domed glass door with brass bezel to the front to allow access to dial and winding holes
- Hinged wooden door with brass fretwork panel to the rear to allow the gong sound to travel Dial- Made of silvered metal with Roman numerals
- Two winding holes for the two trains of the movementMovement- Brass square 8 day striking movement
- Movement signed by Astral, Coventry (England) and numbered 41417
- This is a striking clock and strikes the half and counts the hour on a coiled gong
- Movement will run for approximately 8 days when fully wound
- Clock has a good action and keeps good time
- Comes complete with winding key and pendulumMeasurements
- Clock measures approximately 40cm (16 inches) high by 24cm wide and 18cm deepCondition
- Condition is generally very good and the clock has a nice patina
- This clock is a genuine antique so it will inevitably have minor signs of age and wear
- Movement has been cleaned and oiled and is in full working order
- The case looks to be in lovely condition, minor issue is that the handle is missing from the rear door
