Antique Embroidered Cotton and Silk Wedding Banner

Mid 20th century

This was used in conjunction with a wedding and to decorate the wedding bedroom.

At its center are floral designs, characters. At the top is a bat with flowers descending from its wings. Along the bottom are stylized bats, against a red background.

The border features confronting dragons at the top and confronting phoenix at bottom. The floral motif is continued on each side.

There is some fraying and fading but overall condition is good.
