Circa 1860, very stylish early Victorian gilt overmantel mirror. The oval mirror has a carved pediment with foliate carving of flowers and leaves, and is held in position by 2 royal peacocks wearing coronets with fine plumage. There are flowers coming out behind out the peacocks and they stand on rustic bases. In the centre of the bottom is a carved flower and the whole piece sits on a long rectangular plinth with a moulded edge. Wonderful colour and patination.
