    early nineteenth century porcelain inkwell decorated with figures in a landscape

    French Empire circular porcelain inkwell with a removable bucket and its sharp lid and three integrated pen holders hightened with golden threads. The green, brown enamel and gold decoration on white background represents three characters who seem to contemplate a hills landscape dominated by shrubs and herbs of an elegant design. Light wear to the gilding.
