A very smart and elegant Deco/Retro brooch dating from the 1930s or '40s, tested as 18 ct, in yellow and white gold, and with a row of five graduated cultured pearls of fine colour and lustre down one side. the back of the pin is stamped 'deposé' meaning the design is registed in France against copying, and with an unidentified maker's mark SSM. The clip has a two-pin fastening which means that it an be worn anywhere on an outift - sometimes they have a clip back and you can clip it only on an edge.
