...........................................................................Description: 'Christopher Hughes' 1881-1961 LOVELY OIL ON CANVAS WILTSHIRE LANDSCAPE PAINTING This beautiful Original 1950's Landscape Oil painting depicts a wonderful tranquil English landscape of Wiltshire.The work was executed by Christopher Hughes (1881 -1961).Hughes was Art Master at Marlborough College between the 1920's and 1940's and was also a serving Captain in the 7th Battalion Wiltshire Regiment where he received a military cross in the First World War.

The painting is a gorgeous example with superb attention to detail.Mounted within the original 1950's frame and offered in overall fabulous original condition.There is a small mark on the period frame but other than this minute cosmetic imperfection the work is a truly wonderful example and will look outstanding on any wall wither period or modern.
