ITEM DESCRIPTION: Original Early 20th Century Chinoiserie Decorated Mantel Clock by Butcher & Swann with Empire 8-Day Platform Escapement Movement. The case is patinated green lacquered wood of an arch shape with hand decorated and painted Chinoiserie or Japanned decoration, including decor to the face with roman numerals and strike/silent dial. Strikes the hours and half hours on a gong. Retailed by Butcher & Swann of Nottingham. The clock in working order, with period key, an 8-day movement, so only need to wind once a week. Beautiful Patina. Absolutely Stunning.
