    Antique C19 Four Poster Bed Colonial Portuguese Single Daybed

    Unusual 19th century Portuguese Colonial four-poster single bed daybed.

     
     
     
    Would be a good children's Bed !?
     
     
     
    Very decorative heavy carved teak.
     
     
     
    This bed will take a mattress 109cms (3'6") wide & 185cms (6') long.
     
     
     
    The side bar height is 22cms (8.7").
     
     
     
    The top canopy top measures 134cms (52.75") wide and 205cms (81") long.
     
     
     
    We can also fit customized wood slats if required.
     
     
     
    In the 19th century the Portuguese had several colonies in India including Goa where furniture design reflected influences from both the West and India.
     
     
     
    Very good antique condition sound and solid with a couple of missing turnings and a couple of small losses to the turnings that are hard to notice (there are so many!) with some minor old restorations and age related wear
