A delightful bronze sculpture of a young boy piper clad in a fig leaf. The attention to detail throughout is absolutely fantastic.The piece is a recast of an original and bears the replica signature of the renowned Auguste Moreau.This bronze is hot cast using the lost wax method. Measurements:Height 72 cm x Width 26 cm x Depth 26 cmWeighs 16 kgAuguste Moreau 1834-1917 Born in Dijon in the early 19th century, he studied under Mathurin Moreau. Auguste Moreau worked as a sculptor and specialised in figures, statuettes and groups, mainly in marble. He made his debut at the 1861 Salon in Paris and continued to play an active part in the Salon des Artistes Francais as a member of the Societe des Artistes Francais until 1910.
