A beautiful antique Victorian silver mounted walking cane with an ebonised shaft. The silver handle beautifully engraved, with hallmarks for London 1920. In the Victorian era, walking sticks were used as a measure of social status, wealth and power. Every respecting Victorian gentlemen, many ladies, and even children used walking sticks. Occasionally they could be double as a security device. Walking sticks of this era were decorated with intricate designs, jewels, gold, silver, porcelain, glass and precious materials.
