This is an antique Viennese Biedermeier Empire display cabinet on chest, Circa 1810 in date and in truly excellent condition. It has been made from the finest blond elm and has ebonised columns with gilded bronze capitelli and ormolu mounts typical of the Empire period.The top has two glazed doors, glazed sides, and a glass shelf to display your collectables. The base has four large deep useful drawers. You are viewing this item in it''s excellent original condition as we have not yet had time to restore it. Any restoration that is required will be done before delivery and is included in the price.Biedermeier was a term used to describe a specific style of furniture that was popular in 19th century Vienna. Biedermeier furniture was characterised by simple, graceful curving lines and featured striking contrasts of light and dark colouring.
