A small Restauration ormolu mantel clock composed by a central dial containing the movement, symmetrically flanked by a woman dressed à l’antique and a column surmounted by a perfume vase. The feminine character remove the lid of the vase and discovers a lengthened Cupid holding a mirror. A particular care was accorded to the dress and physionomy : we can notice the regular lines of her face which expresses the surprise and her tunic attached under the breast, revealing the forms of her body according to the classic iconography rules. She has a high bun decorated with pearl necklaces according to the taste of the Empire period. The dial is finely chiselled with bunches of flowers, foliage and cornucopias in the lower part. Friezes of water leaves, interlacing and twisted patterns surround the dial with Roman numerals on a white enamelled cartridge.
