ITEM DESCRIPTION: Original Antique Bronze Figure of The Weeping Angel of Amiens, and seated on the original red marble base. The angel is described as a cherub or putto, his left hand on an hourglass (symbolizing the brevity of life), his right elbow on a skull (symbolizing death). The original statue adorns the funerary monument of canon Guilain Lucas in Amiens Cathedral. This is an original antique bronze figure dating from the late 19th Century, possibly brought back to England from Europe on a Grand Tour. Absolutely Stunning.
